Problem with E-MU 6400 Ultra

Postby Antony_K » Tue Jul 31, 2007 3:33 pm

Hello,

I have an E-MU 6400 Ultra. I'm using it for the past 4 years now with an internal 40GB HDD.

Now I have a problem with the sampler. Everytime I turn ON the E-MU, It works for about 2 - 3 minutes and then the backlight would turn OFF and all the other lights on the E-MU would turn ON.

I was asked by the E-MU support team to go for a lower RPM/Memory HDD, But I've been using the sampler with this 40GB HDD/7200 RPM since the time I bought it.

I took it to a local technician and got the E-MU 6400's Power supply changed. It dint help.

I live in a place where there are no E-MU authorized personnel to tell me what this issue is.

Please help!
Thanks & regards,

Antony karuna.

Thank you for your reply,

The sampler would turn ON and function properly if I remove the internal HDD and work with an external MOD or a CD ROM drive.

If the internal drive is connected, it would turn ON and work for 2-3 minutes, sometimes even more. Then the screen would completely turn OFF showing nothing on the screen, and all the other lights such as the DISK BROWSE, PRESET...... would come ON and stay lit.

I only hope that there's no issue with the Mother Board.
Thanks & regards,

Antony karuna.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've been using the same setup for years with no changes.

When this occurs it helps me to just pull the electric cord out of the sampler and plug it back in. It usually works flawlessly then.

Still a permanent solution would be greatly appreciated!!!

 I can't believe but today i run in to exactly same problem with my e6400 ultra!! Now using search function in this forum i found this thread...Can anyone provide some idea or solution. As we can see PSU is not and issue here. Holy crap..i have EXACTLY same thing. HDD is not issue also. Replacing with second is giving same result. E6400 is working for two minutes then screen turn off and every led turn ON.

Sometimes i can't even start it to work for few minutes..It goes all LED on, screen off right upon boot...

Help
