THE STICKY FRONT PANEL BUTTONS SOLUTION ? ? ?

Postby sergioelectro » Wed Feb 20, 2008 8:11 pm

Hello,

I have a E4k and really have lots of buttons on the front panels that are sticky, or that I have to push very strong to react, or sometimes they just keep on repeating their function 3 or 4 times without stopping.

I have searched on this forum for this subject, but never any clear answer to that problem has ever been given!!!!
SO WHAT TO DO ? ? Can I clean them and please tell me how ?
How the only solution is to change them ?

Thanks a lot for your help

I have an E4K too and the same problem. I got myself a cheap PC keyboard with an adapter (?3 on Ebay for the latter) and plugged it into the back of the E4K. That solved the problem and made it much easier to program.

Yeah but afaic, my E6400 Ultra came without the ascii keyboard port option, plus the data wheel is dead (will be replaced soon) so for now I can only rely on the buttons...

I Just finished putting back the e5000 together after cleaning a couple of buttons. I was'nt sure if what i was doing would work but after a quick power up the buttons i cleaned with alcohol are NOT double triggering anymore. Now i need to do them all.
