Any problems with your Ultra sampler should be reported here, hopefully someone might know what's wrong.

my E5000 hates ONE sample...

Not sure what the problem is. I sampled a pad into it, went to preset edit, and hit edit voice and BAM: frozen.

I tried group edit. The same.

I tried saving the bank under a different name and re-loading it, no luck.

I tried saving both the sample and preset under different names, no luck.

I though it might be a length issue, so I shortened the 15 second sample to a 2.5 second looping pad, and it still froze. However this time, it gave me a message:

FATAL ERROR: Gen Trap error

Along with a bunch of numbers I wrote down but won't post unless someone thinks they're necessary.

Any ideas???

im going to guess... either bad format for the sample or its getting corrupted in memory/transfer somehow..
make sure you're using standard pcm wav, 16 bit 44khz... or try resampling as aiff... troubleshoot a bit and see what happens..

I'm not sure how the bad format would apply. Is it possible the emu records into a format that it can't even read itself? I find that unlikely.

gen trap errors tend to be issues with ram. Best bet is just probably to reset the sampler and try again. If it happens when sampling directly in, then try other ways of inputting the sound, ie through scsi connection, etc.
