Problem with e4b files created in Proteus VX

Postby FoxVernon » Sun Oct 18, 2009 1:44 am

I downloaded the free version of Proteus VX hoping I could create patches in it and transfer over to my e5000 Ultra (via CF Card)

When I do this, though, the Ultra starts reading the file, and only gets to 3%, where it hangs?

Maybe this is a bug in EOS 4.7?

Thoughts?

Thx,

Fox

Have you solved the problem?
The reason I ask is that I have the same problem. Trying to export to e4b and load it on a e5000.

cheers

Problem solved!

I don’t know if it is due to that I used Proteus-X or if I formatted the zip from my e5000.
But if you save banks from Proteus-X (not VX), there is no problem.

Hi, Niklas

Can you go into a little bit more detail about the export process - I can't seem to find any mention of saving e4b files in the manual. Or has that feature been dropped from the X2?

It's pretty cheap to get a Proteus X2 with the 2x2 midi interface at the moment - you will pay that much for a second hand Midisport 2x2 on eBay

No the export command is still in the X2.
You find the “Export” command under “File”.
Export it as .e4b bank.

If you read EOS 4.7 manual appendum you find that you the Ultra sampler can’t import banks with lots of presets or samples.
Link where you can download EOS 4.7 manual appendum.

There is no information in the addendum of the EOS 4.70 manual that the Ultra samplers can't import banks with lots of presets or samples.
The only information in regards to limitations are about the amount of files and folders EOS-FAT and FAT12/16/32 can hold.

When someone uses Emulator X (X, X2 or X3) or Proteus X (X2, VX) and prepares banks for export to the E4, he/she has to take care that the limitations of the E4 (Bank of max. 128MB with max. 1000 Presets & max. 1000 Samples) respectivly the limitations of his/her own E4 are not exceeded.

Guys you are having problems because Emulator X and Proteus X use the same shitty translator/exporting software from Chickensys. Just look in this forum how many troubles people have with this. Find better alternative or something..
