e6400 classic jog wheel not really working

Postby meech » Thu Aug 05, 2010 3:32 am

just got this e6400 on ebay for $200-
It came with EOS v2.80f, 128 mb ram and the midi expander option installed.
The jog wheel doesn't really work. it seems to be jumpy and only moves a digit or two. the 'dec - inc' buttons work so im not really complaining just wondering if anyone has any idea how to fix it.
The cpu ram is 1mb and flash ram is 1mb not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Is the flash ram upgradable on this model? where can i find it if so ? and what would the benefits be ?

So far i have it rockin with a zip drive, automation station midi cc, sequenced by the litle mpc500. (mpc 500 has no audio comin out. its all about the emu sound!).

also where can i get the rfx ?

1. You could first try to recalibrate the Rotary Encoder (Jog-wheel), see Recalibration in the manual.
If that brings nothing then see if this helps you:

2. Has nothing to do with it.

3. Yes, a 2 MB Flash Ram WAS available.

4. Almost impossible to find these days.

5. You can update to the latest EOS 4.62 Classic with 2 MB Flash Ram, with your 1 MB EOS 3.0 is the highest you can go.

6. RFX-32 for Ultra models only, can't install in yours.
