EMU6400 ULTRA boot up problem

Postby AMBIENTNUN » Sat Dec 11, 2010 6:43 am

Ive just tried to upgrde my OS 4.01 with the floppy thats been sitting in the box since I bought it and there's a read error on sector 0 on the disk.

However when Ive tried to revert to the flash boot up its stopped at " checking flash" and now will not go any further.

Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this ?

help much appreciated .

EOS:Troubleshooting would have been the right category for this issue.

If the sampler tries to read from an inserted floppy disc after power off & on again, you should try installing "E4 Ultra Flash Prep", available at http://www.emu.com. If successful, install EOS 4.61 or EOS 4.70.

If unsuccessful, it could be that the boot code is corrupted and the FLASH-module has to be reprogrammed by an EMU-Serivce Center.

Service Centers:
USA: http://www.eprelectronics.com
Germany: http://www.pms-electronics.de

Or you purchase the "PCBA EOS Ultra Boot Flash SIMM V1.0" at EPR Electronics.

Find someone with a PC including a floppy disc drive and ask him/her for assistance.
Updates of EOS are only installable via floppy disc. A SCSI CD-Rom drive won't help in this regards.
