SCSI/Drive Mount Problem

Postby Transient Energy » Mon May 16, 2011 1:45 pm

I just bought my 1st E-MU sampler it's a E4X Hollywood Gold running EOS 3.0b. It has a 2GB internal HD and an external SCSI CD Drive. The problem is I can't mount both at the same time. If the CD drive is unplugged the HD works fine, but if the CD drive is plugged in the HD doesn't show up and the CD drive shows up 7 times :/ Any ideas whats wrong and how I can fix it?

Hello!

Please disconnect the external scsi drive.

-then power up the emu.

-press disk menü and look which ID the HD has!

Now you have the ID of the HD.

Next step is searching for the jumper settings of your SCSI CDRom Drive. Or, when the Drive is in a seperate case, look for SCSI setting.

Often scsi cases have the possibility to change the ID from outside!

But if there is no way to change the ID, you must change the jumpers on your CDRom drive!

Look in the www for the settings of your specific drive!

It is not possible to have more than one drive with the same scsi ID!!!!

In the MASTER menu "SETUP"-> "SCSI" you can see which SCSI ID is used by the Sampler himself.

And please look in the manual! It is all described there!

good advice VDS
I would add that you might find placing a scsi terminator block at the end of the chain helps ;)

That maybe so, but you are kind enough to help a random person that you have never met, and you want nothing in return.
