need help - hard drive

Postby Breaktime » Thu Jan 22, 2004 8:55 pm

Hi, just put in maxtor 40gig in my E5000, the sampler found it straight away but I can't save to it, the e5 says "end of file error"....I have formated it,,,,

is this because Im running under 4.02?

I have tried to save Flash prep from the emu sight to a floppy HD disk in order to load emu 4.7, but the floppy properties says it is 1.38mb so it can't save a 1.4mb file - even though the floppy is technically 1.44mb !!!!!
Why does this shit happen? Can someone help>>???

e5000 shouldn't need Flash prep should it? Can you not just load 4.7 straight on?

Yeah you're right, you'll need to use flash prep. And you say it won't fit on a disk? Are you launching flash-prep and then putting a disk in your pc and then pressing 'a' for floppy drive - should work?

similar problem

Postby tomfbh » Mon Apr 19, 2004 12:59 pm

hi,
I'm having the same problem in that I've installed a hard drive and could save a few things to it, but when I tried to save a bigger lot of samples I get the 'end of file error' message coming up. Just wondering if you managed to solve it in the end - I'm running EOS 4.02 so maybe that might have something to do with it but I would've thought any OS should be able to cope with saving files...
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.

cheers, tom

4.02 indeed has this problem. U need Flash Prep to bring the OS up to 4.6.1 then u can run 4.7 from a floppy or over midi with E-Loader.

Details on flash prep are on the board, ud find them with a search.
