my emu e6400 ultra sampler screen has turned orange and now has just gone a very dull colour and i cant seem to change the contrast its just about visible.

ALL Emu sampler LCDs are either blue or green. Orange is not a good color for it to be. If I were you, I'd use my Emu as little as possible until you get a hold of another LCD. Emu probably has some laying around, contact them ASAP.

yeah this happened to me. I think it was the power supply not pulling enuff voltage. This caused the backlite tube to malfunction, turn orange, then go completely blank but still orange , then finally the backlight tube failed. i had to get an upgraded power supply so i could run RFX in addition to a backlite tube. Its all working now but the tech didnt calibrate it properly so any contrast setting above zero would turn the screen blank, not a problem for normal use but when updating the EOS from floppy it must use a high contrast setting cos the screen is blank when in this situation.
