hey, pardon me if this is a stupid question. i really haven't any interest in Emulator X, haven't read up on it too much, but let me ask this anyway

so Emulator X is both an audio/midi interface AND the EMU software sampler, right?

my question is, will the EMU X software sampler work with any and all other interfaces and will the EMU X interface work with any and all other software?

are they sold only together as a package or can you split them up?

This is a very difficult questions to answer at this early stage.
Believe me.

I used to sell hardware and software for musicproduction and learned to never NEVER say 'yes' before you have fully tested the system in question :-)

It SHOULD work with most / all software solutions as it has drivers for all common platforms (ASIO etc.) but as far as running the Emulator X card(s) alongside other audiocards I really don't know as of now.

In my experience it is never a good idea to mix cards in a computer as conflicts may occur (and different latencies and stuff like that can harm your system as well).
