Back into resampling

Postby wrecker13 » Sat May 07, 2005 6:50 pm

So I'm in love with resampling again. I got one of those Microkorgs that has a built in vocoder. I beat box into it, tap pots and pans in front of the mic, whatever....and sample that right into the EMU. Beat munge it, timestretch it, assign it to a preset and do whatever else. A vocoder plus an EMU is the shit.

resampling?

Postby somsay » Thu Nov 10, 2005 6:20 pm

hello i tried to see the difference with resampling and recording into logic audio with my motu 828mk2

and resampling was not as good as my recording in logic...

then i resend my samples into the emu...

time consuming yes!

the motu 828 mk2 sounds better!

Perhaps the 828mkII does sound 'better'. But I think I speak for a lot of people when I say the reason I like resampling in the Emu is exactly because it sounds 'worse'. The coloration the Emu adds to pretty much everything works really well for some things, and it's a sound I have yet to find anywhere else at all.
