A drum kit in regards to what? A drum pad trigger set or a chopped up break?

I just number the pieces of my break 1...2 ..3 and so on so they are all in order in the original sequence.

You will have to be a bit more clear and I am sure someone will sort you out.

I find the easiest way of laying out a drum kit is to take an existing kit, but replace the samples with others of your own.

i guess it depends if you're laying it out on a keyboard or a pad-type interface. if on keys, i've always found it easiest to lay out the different sounds on just the black (flat/sharp) keys but this may not work if you've got alot of sounds in your kit. i've found it's much easier to play drum samples on the keys if they're spaced out like this.

Just be careful to assign a group to the hihat sounds, otherwise it won't be too realistic.

Still wonder, why the protean drums rom is the only one of my ROM that does this (XL-7, proteus, Techno Kit, Protean drums)...
