preset made from a sequence?

Postby sturoc » Sat Apr 15, 2006 8:01 pm

Very new to creating presets.
The subject line pretty much asks the question.
Can it be done ? or is there a different way to do it?

Thanks

Unless I am missing something...

I am confused.

A preset is a sound, drum kit, or group of sounds... I don't think it really has much to do with sequences... But I don't use the emu for sequencing.. go figure.

you can sample the audio output of the sequencer while its playing. Is this what you mean?

I think that's it

hey om,
That sounds like exactly what I want to do. sample a sequence so I
can play it back across the keybd. since the arpeggiator can only do set patterns.
Then store it it as preset.
Wasn't sure if one could do this?
Sampleandhold - that's basically it there, I noticed thought that the word sequencer started meaning recorder a few years ago for DAW stuff
I tend to use the term as it was back in the old days, sorry.

I don't think that is a problem. The sequence will continue to go even if you leave sequencer menu. Make your self a sequence with a large pause in the start, start playing it and hurry to your sample menu and "arm" the e-mu, and then it should work great. Or just make your sequence loop, and then sample it. You could always edit it afterwards.

Okay... So that is what he met. I have resampled a break I made using Cubase as the sequencer play back, I would assume you could do the same with the Emu running the sequence.

works fine, you can do just about everything while the sequencer is running untill it crashes ;) also some cool stuff the seq/arp clock is a mod source, u can record arp notes into a sequencer track, arp outputs on the midi out so u can hook up external gear. etc.. seq/arp is such a good feature with a lot of creative potential, not using this aspect of the e-mu is like not using the filters to me, composition changes everything its not just static sounds but how they are arranged, you can work very fast this way too!

Yeah,

I can see why these are the greatest Samplers.
The deeper I get into it the more I miss it when I'm on the road working.
As far as speed of the many tasks it can do would an Ultra be faster?
Thinking at some point to move up to that model.
Thanks,

slightly I'm sure, but I am still using a E64 so I have no idea. I just ment in general because you can do everything from one machine.
