Multiple midi setups in multi mode, cords menu problem?

Postby mr_capstick » Thu Aug 03, 2006 6:23 pm

Hello

I'm trying to automate in real time the filter and resonance controls on 2 differant presets while in multi mode. I have midi A/B on filter/res preset 1 and midi C/D on filter/res preset 2. The problem is that only preset A will give me automation in real time. All my midi controllers are setup correctly, I'm assuming it may be a grouping problem but cant find out what. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should add that I'm using EOS 4.7. I think it may be a limitation on how much automation you can have on differant presets, am I wrong?

I'm sure there is a limit to how much midi automation data an ULTRA can process at once, but from your description, I wouldn't think your implementation would or should be even taxing the limits of the processing on the ULTRA.

What do you mean by Midi A/B? Are you talking about CC's?

That might help me to help you. Yeah :)

Do you have the right channel selected for the second preset? Do you have the right controller channel selected for the CC you are choosing? Assuming you have left things default... Midi A is 21 and so on... If I remember right. So if are trying to automate the same channel on the second preset your not going to get anything. You need to change the Midi CC channel of course.

If your doing all this.. take pictures of the emu's mod matrix so we can see how you have things set up... and perhaps your sequencer program too.

Preset 1 and Preset 2 are linked?

If not?

Both Presets have different MidiChannels.

Do you have a Realtime Controller which can send Controllerdata on differently MidiChannnels ?

If you work with Sequencers like Logic or Cubases etc etc you have to prepaire the Midi output !.

Thanks for all your help folks I've resolved the problem now. I'd failed split the midi control channels from my midi controller as suggested.

Thanks
