Save / Export Preset But Not Bank?

Postby ct43 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:56 pm

Hello everyone, just got a Ultra last week, but I still cant figure out how to save / export a preset without saving it as a bank! Ive read the manual but I cant seem to find the answer. I know this is probably the most dumb question ever but im stuck!!

thanks

Carl.

Because of the way the system is organized, you can't save a preset except into a bank. Even if it's a bank of only that one preset, the preset has to reside in a bank. You can specify which bank to save it into, and what preset number slot to save it in, but it's still got to go into a bank one way or another.

Only other thing to do would be to sysex dump it, but that would only dump the settings, not the samples that go with the preset.

TBH im no expert on the emu... im not sure what is happening with your samples as I dont use SCSI

maybe you just need to asign your samples properly to a program / preset (whatever its called)

Hello from Spain!

Please could you tell me how I can take a preset from a bank and save it in another different bank?
When I've tried to do this, the E-mu want to destroy every presets that reside in the bank where I want to save the preset. I want to save the new preset not destroying the others.

Thank you very much!!

1. Import samples over SCSI
2. Edit samples if necessary, name them, etc.
3. Create new preset in blank bank
4. Create sample zone(s)
5. Assign samples to zones
6. Set key range of samples across keyboard, volume, pan, etc.
7. Name preset
8. Name bank
9. Save bank

Works for me every time. Did you check the key ranges of sample zones? Is each sample set to its original pitch, e.g. set to C3 if recorded at C3?
