I have set up a preset in which:

- the foot pedal (continuous controller) controls the filter frequency
- the mod wheel controls the filter resonance

Whilst I am getting real-time modulation with the foot pedal, nothing happens when I move the mod wheel unless I re-trigger the notes, i.e. it does nothing when notes are sustained.

Any idea why?

It's just an OS limitation. I seem to recall that it should work OK with OS 4.70 - maybe someone else can confirm this?

Yes, it is an operating system limitation, and since I got the latest non-ultra os I can confirm that it is not possible on the classic range.
