hey everyone,

I'm wanting to set up some cords that will allow me to trigger a bass drum from my sustain pedal. I'm trying to improve the feel of my drums and I've worked out how to map the samples on the keyboard but it would be really kewl if I could program the sustain to trigger the bass drum sample.

Any ideas. I suck at cording.

I don't remember what cc sustain is on, but look it up, then change one of your midi a, b, c's to that cc, and from here I'll let someone else explain, but you are now about to enter sample start and a little more advanced cording.

I actually want to trigger the bass drum sound from the sustain. I've been reading the manual (first time ever) and it looks like a

Footswitch to SampleRetrigger could do the job. gonna experiment today.

I'm thinking... if the footswitch usually registers full when pressed (on=127), but sampleretrigger is triggered by a negative going zero crossing, then you might need to reverse the polarity of the patchcord (on=-127) and add a small DC offset (to place the rest/off position slightly above zero).

Is my logic correct on this? I have to admit, given that there were no proper descriptions of the sources or destinations in the EOS manual, I cribbed most of the information I'm using from the Emulator X manual (stripped down to the EOS sources/destinations), on the assumption they still worked the same way.

your logic is right, but my original premis was not. I cant seem to get this to work the way I want it to. I suck at cords, but I'll keep trying.

I'll let you know if I succeed, though I can say that the foot pedal will only produce note ons of 127, which isn't exactly what I was thinking.
