How to "delay" a voice in a preset?

Postby rcl » Mon Feb 04, 2008 2:46 am

I have been experimenting with bass sounds a lot lately and I'd like to be able to play two samples (voices), but "delay" the start of one. I have tried tweaking attack settings but that's just amplitude, so when the sample does come in it's still been started at the key press...

What I want this for is playing waveforms out of phase with each other. I have had good success just detuning +1 fine or something, but the result is a slowly modulating flange... this is cool, but not always what I'd want. I'm SURE there has to be a way.. this would also come in handy for me with drum synthesis, so it's pretty important

Thanks for any thoughts!

Under voice tuning there is a delay parameter that allows you to delay the note on info for the given voice. This should do what you want. Have a look at page 336 of the EOS4 manual for more info.

You can also play around with the two envelope attacks.

you could also use 'sstart and have one voice start at a different point then the start. So one could start right at the beginning and one about a half second in or something.
