Z-plane Peak/Shelf Morph

Postby ezman » Tue Sep 30, 2003 10:10 pm

Godddammnnnnnnnnn! I love this filter :slayer: :slayer: :slayer:
I highly recommend getting a distorted sub and putting it through this baby with a slow LFO or decent FiltEnv controlling FiltFreq. Then some settings like Morph 37 Peak 16.8db...no just play about with it in fact - learn it's ways and it will treat you well. Hope to get some examples up soon...

Agreed, this is by far my favorite filter. For twisting out yer sounds, there's nothing like it.

I'm still trying to figure out the master Peak control, though, and how it relates to the individual frame Peak controls.

For that matter, what do the frame Peak controls do when you're in Shelving mode? Do they function just like gain controls? If that's the case, then how does a Shelf value of say 10 differ from a Shelf value of say 64???

If I get your question right - the shelf value seems to determin how wide the shelf is. On the hi shelf if you are on 10 you get a more fullbodied sound but whack it up to 64 and you get a very nasal sound. The master peak control seems to just boost the effect of both hi and low on the orginal sound but I might be wrong :spliff:

How to modulate individually the low morph frame'a frequency and the high morph frame's frequency via lfo1 and lfo2?

Thanks.

Ive played with the peak\shelf filter but yet to fully understand it

So far i havent managed to make it do anything amazing...

Can any of you guys list some tracks which make use of the z plane filters?
or even your own clips?

Would be very good to hear it in action

visit : www.myspace.com/misanthrop25

and listen to "bullhead". the mid/bass is a peak morph filter...
i pretty much use it in all of my tunes, but that example is
just plain emu without any "in the box" manipulations....

Hi,
when controlling BY midi A and MIDI B, Filt Freq and Filt Res, it seems not possible to control fully the EQ Morph.

I mean, I'd like for instance to control all parameters of this awesome filter...(Shelves Low and Hight, Morph, LowFiltFreq, Hight Filt Freq).

Do you know if it's possible?

thanks

ps : nice sound misanthrop, I've heard your traks on myspace
