Velocity to filter freq cord?

Postby tonedeaf » Wed Mar 11, 2009 4:37 pm

Hi. I recently got an E4XT Ultra sampler and I'm trying to create some keyboard presets. I arranged the samples in 4 groups (to have different cutoff freqs) and I want to have the key velocity change the filter freq to make a hard touch bright and soft touch dark. I have a cord from Vel< to FFreq, and set the filter for a group to say 5000 Hz, 2 pole, Q=1 for example. I cant hear much difference with a % of say 20%. But if I set Vel+ and -100% the sound is bright with soft touch and dark with hard touch.

What am I doing wrong?

thanks for any advice on settings!

Set it to Vel~ with a positive value of say, +100%. See if that works.

Hello.. similar to my query. The mp3s on my thread seem to have been deleted, but the settings may still be helpful:

viewtopic.php?t=2723

00 Vel< AmpVol +1%
01 PitWl Pitch +57%
02 Vel< C04Amt -100%
03 VEnv< 'FilRes +100%
04 Vel< C05Amt +100%
05 FEnv+ FillFreq +28%

Shouldn't that be C03Amt?

It's likely that you're right. Those particular settings did produce the sound I was after at the time though, so I posted the settings for reference.
