As you have a classic the option to export your samples via zip disc formated in fat32 and bulk process them in soundforge is not an option, so you will have to do it the slow way
Try to think of it as a an exercise in getting to know the machine better because by the time you are totally familiar with the E-mu you will be flying around the unit
I wouldn't know the best algorithm for this as I work with a sound editor on the pc but with a little bit of experimentation you can let your ears decide
I suggest making multiple copies of 1 sample,then processing each one differently to hear the effects of each algorithm,
then when you find what works best for you use this as the tool to timeshrink your bank
