My own solution to create E4B files

Postby paulsynth » Mon May 09, 2011 12:07 am

To create banks from pc to my emu e6400 ultra, i was going crazy, but i found a solutiom, the problem was that the sampler dont wanna see in sip disk e4b made with proteus VX!!!!!
To made banks, u need 3 things, Chikensys translator, extreme sample converter (necessary sometimes if ive different banks like SF2, kontaks,.........ecc.) and naturally proteus VX
1) take your sample in any format and convert it in .exb format, dont care if there are lot of presets
2) open it in proteus VX and export single sound you want in the list, clicking with right button of mouse on sound of your interest and export in .exb format
3) open chickensys and export in e4b single sound, u will receive an error advise, dont care, click ok and close it.
4) go in folder with the name of your sound (the EXB) u will see inside, one exb, one folder samplepool and another folder with same name as your sound, go inside and change the name, u will have B.0-name of preset.e4b and rename if its the 1st B.000-name of preset.e4b and the same for others u can create B.001, B.002, ecc.
5) load it inside your removable media and load in sampler and do the same with all programs
6) save the bank with all your sound loaded inside

Doing that u can create your own library and keep it everywhere you want, taking it from everywhere, your yamaha synth, akay cd, emu cd ,SF2, ecc. (its better use extreme converter)
I had problems to load wav format, but aiff made with wavelab are gone ok!!! Enjoy ;)

Hi
This looks very interesting. Thanks for the tip.
Could you tell me if using this method it is possible for translator to produced e4b file made up of multiple samples forming a key map, for example a drum kit containing loads of samples, or can you only have a single sample in each bank?

You can have lot of samples, at example,i translated a multisample of kurzweill from akay with more than 20 samples inside and it worked, ive seen the important its to have one program on each e4b you create with translator, otherwise sampler ignore it and u cant see it on display, if u load inside emu sampler and save with it, you can have at maximum 1000 program, depending on memory amount, but im arrived to 230 for my maximum for now, i want try now to build samples with kontakt and translate and see if its working. I tried all weekend, since i updated my flash simm with EOS 4.70, if i discover other things i post here :)

This thread is a few years, but really good :D

I have not actually tried to save the individual instruments from Proteus V, only the banks which have failed...

Is there anyone who has managed to convert the Proteus Composer bank from Proteus VX to e4b or eos ooch who is willing to share

I've tried and tried several times but I have failed every time.
I've managed to get over the sounds, but many of the sounds are totally screwed up
