EMU sampler library giveaway

Postby atomicmidi » Sun Jun 05, 2011 7:03 pm

EMU sampler library and Yamaha sampler Library exchanged for following lessons:

1. General explanation about "cords" system on Emu e5000 ultra / 40GB hd

2. How to assign different things like filters etc. to midi controller sliders

3. Step by step tutorial to take a sample and with modulation and other tricks turn it into some other cool sounds

4. Some other bits n bobs regarding sound shaping

I don't expect anyone to devote their time to explain this for free so in return I am giving away 15CD worth of EMU goodness - please note, the CD's will be in ISO image file form. They are backups from my sample library I bought a few years ago. Yamaha sample library came with my Yamaha sampler, as far as I know it is not transferable to EMU standard easily.. shame cos it's a top notch library.. but if you have a Yamaha sampler it will really shine.

Let me know if anyone is up for this!

Some stuff to start you off.

First thing you nead to do is asign your controller to the emu

To Setup the MIDI Controllers
1. Press the Master button. The LED illuminates and the Memory
Statistics screen appears.
2. Press the MIDI function key (F6). The MIDI Globals sub menu appears.
3. Press the Controls 1 or 2 function key (F2 or F3). The MIDI Controllers
menus appears.
4. Select the desired controller name using the cursor buttons or the
indicated function keys.
5. Select the MIDI controller numbers using the Data Entry Control, or
INC/DEC buttons.
6. Press the Exit button twice to return to the Memory Statistics screen

Check out my topic - Here are some banks using midi clocks
LINK http://www.emusonacid.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3651
This shows how to use controllers to modulate the sound. These banks create rhythmic filter sweeps in time with your tune using midi clock devisors.
There is downloadable bank and also patch data for you to input it manually, which would be a good way to learn your way around the sampler.

For realtime control of the filter just use the following

CHORD NO------------SOURCE-----------------DEST---------------AMOUNT
..06 ---------------------MidiA ----------------- FiltFrq-------------- +100

Source could be whatever you like eg Mod wheel (but ensure that the mod wheel is not patched to vibrato by setting the lfo to pitch chord to 000)
To hear the filter change you need to ensure freq is set to the lowest setting in the filter page so that the controller can have any effect apon the filter.
By experimenting with these chords you will begin to understand the ways you can set up controllers.
I will post a "synth type" bank that gives you C/Controller cords for the amp and filter envelopes, filter cutoff, resonance, detune, sub osc level, white noise and chorus depth soon.
