[resampling] how do you resample ?

Postby tpotcardiff » Tue Jun 21, 2011 8:51 pm

How would I go about resampling 'in the box' with the E5000 ultra?

Is it possible to resample with fx (not the rfx32 card)?

Im on EOS 4.02.

Another question is should I upgrade to 4.7? what are the main advantages & is it easy or risky to do?

thanks.

You found your answer to the resampling, so I'll just go to the next bit.

I just upgraded my e6400 Ultra from 4.02 to 4.70 last night. Made a back up of 4.02 first, then I followed the instructions in the OP here to make the FlashPrep and EOS 4.70 disks. I got the FlashPrep from the E-MU website, but I could not get the EOS470.exe from there to copy to the floppy. I found a copy of the file here and it copied over, and everything installed very quickly. I also copied both programs to floppies using Windows 7. Main reason I did the upgrade was so I could drop an audio file on Zip disk and then load it up on the E-MU. Tested a few files out last night, works great.

Only thing now is that my SCSI Zip drive shows up as several SCSI devices. It works, and my other SCSI devices work, but I need to figure out why it's showing up multiple times.

cheers for the info,

Do you think I could load wavs from a SCSI cd rom after upgrading to 4.7?

Not sure, lets see if someone chimes in. I have some free time tomorrow though, and I plan to play around with the gear. I'll give it a shot if we don't have an answer sooner.

If you do opt to get Zip drives, they are a decent price on eBay. I bought one the other week with about 15 Zip disks for $10 U.S., then a SCSI CD-ROM for the same price.

Not even 4.7 will read a wav from a cd
This includes audio cds and self made data cds with wavs in folders
The transfer method has to be a fat formatted drive MO drive, SCSI hard drive or Zip drive, take your pick. The easiest is ...
2 zip drives
Drive 1 USB connected to the PC - Mac
Drive 2 SCSI connected to the Emu
You can then swap files without a power down.
Trust me, it works great!

I have a 100 capacity SCSI Zip (model: Z100S2) in my SCSI chain (E-MU > Zip > CD-ROM), and then a 250 capacity USB Zip drive for the computers. We had a few laying around at work, collecting dust.
