Anybody ever replaced a backlight on an ULTRA?

Postby tpotcardiff » Sat Jul 16, 2011 3:57 pm

I bought an E6400 ultra the other week - the guy threw in a second one for 25 quid  but the backlight is quite dull.

Anybody replaced one?

I have read some old threads & seen some parts advertised online - but didnt see much instruction about actually doing it.

cheers.

Did you get anywhere with this or are you breaking the second one for spares?

Somebody on DOA posted a link. Cost a few quid & probs not something a fool like me could do without blowing something up

I've been messing around with the it & it seems to not function correctly. e.g. the floppy drive is super slow & did not load the (correct) flashprep disk, whereas the E5000ultra I have did. I think the disk works but is slooooowww.....

The SCSI cd rom works fine with it -

Gonna test it properly to note down what works/doesn't & sell it off cheap.
