Anyone distort the sh1t out of the z plane filters?

Postby recipher » Mon Jan 05, 2004 10:07 pm

Anyone crank the hell outta the z plane filters for crazy bass distortion? Anyone know if this is alright to do this or is it bad on the equipment? Obviously, I would just use it for sampling (ahem) purposes out through a mixer into my computer to drop back on the sampler, not in multi mode or anything. It sounds pretty cool, not like digitally clipping it in a software enviroment, although, this is really what is happening. What do you think?

pardon my newbieness, but i was wondering which filters actually constitute "z-plane"? i'm super new to my E4. also, what did you tweak to get this effect.
sorry, this reply answers your question in absolutely no way.

No problem! I believe the Z Plane filters consist of any of the filters that have the morph parameter. Pretty sure they are the last 4 filters when you are scrolling through. Not sure if the E4 Ultra has a few more or not.

To get this effect, basically I boosted every gain in the filter, and then messed with morph. Don't remember exact values though. 8-)

edit: don't worry, the only thing it will ruin is people's pants - when they piss themselves from hearing teh hottness.
