Good thing this is on the internet because I have a feeling that yall would throw things at me if this was an actual forum.

So what is so good about the Z-planes? I have messed and fiddled with them on different sounds and cant seem to discover why people rave about them so.

Can anyone here give me an example of a particular Z plane applied to a particular sound that might open my eyes to the amazing-ness of these legendary filters?

i think i would be more prone to through things at you since you said this wasn't an actual forum.

the z planes are cool, you just have to mess around with them. you can create some insane stuff with them. but be careful, you can really push your amp with those filters. the emu can't even hand the filters, especially the peak/shelving filters. makes the poor bird distort really bad.

just have fun with it.

distort some bass, run it thru peak/shelf, play with the values

theres a thread on here somewhere where I replied in depth about z-planes ... it should be able to sort you out ... most of the time peeps is adjusting the parameters for FRAME 1 when the MORPH is at 255. This will result in nothing happening. MORPH switches b/t FRAME1 and FRAME2. For anything else ... that thread should sort you out.

They're also analog filters as opposed to digital filters which is pretty rare these says.
