There's a trick I read a long time ago on the E-Mu site for creating real-time filter modulation that's supposed to sound like analogue synths... And it doesn't require 4.7.
Basically:
You set up your preset with two voices. Cord settings, filter settings, etc, on both voices are set up exactly the same. On one of the voices, though, you set up your filter resonance to 100% and amp volume to 0. Then you set up a cord controlling amp volume, set it to 100% control. So when you turn up that cord, it will fade in the resonance. I've played with that trick quite a bit and I find that it's good to set up the same cord on your other voice so that it fades down just a bit so you don't get too much noise. Other than that, though, it really does sound pretty good.
