I've been trying to learn how to use cords and I thought the best way would be to build some analog-ish synth sounds from basic wave forms. I've sampled the test tones, created a preset with just the sine wave. I'm wanting to be able to get some kewl filter sweeps happening. So far I have studied other presets that behave the way I want and used their cord settings in my sine wave preset with no joy. Any sweep I get is barely audible. I've tried using the preset that had the settings I wanted as a template and copying the sine wave sample into it, and it still sounds duff. I've tried only having a single cord.

#00 MIDIA -> FilFreq 100%

This enables me to sweep when turning the appropriate knob on my keyboard controller but the sound sucks as I can barely here the filter sweep. What am I missing?

I'm using EOS 4.70

You can't filter a sine wave as it has no harmonics. Try it with a sawtooth or pulse wave instead.

actualy, you can filter the sine. typically, you are just removing noise... however, if one sets a centre frequency on, say, a low pass filter at 400 hz, you will actualy hear the roll of of the filter as you hit approx A3 or A4.

like, if you use the 6 pole, you will actualy go about two octaves up, each note progressively getting softer and softer until you hear nothing...

i typically use sines to understand how an eq or filter is working on the sound.

Yeah if you really want to hear exactly what those filters are doing then use white noise as your sample. It's especially usefull for figuring out some of the more complex Z-planes.

Yeah a good sawtooth wave brings out the best of the Ultra filters.
