Hello,
i got an E5000 Ultra and would like to use a keyboard, any chance on getting the ASCII extension?

If you have a look at page 272 of the Service Manual, you'll find the schematics for the ASCII connector.

I have also found out when cross checking, that the ASCII connector pinout (to the MB connector) should be pin compatible between the older E6xxx Classic and the newer Ultra.
A word of caution:
The Ultra uses a 34-pin connector to support all these functions:
ASCII & DIGITAL I/O & WORD CLOCK & MIDI B
where the E6xxx Classic uses a 14-pin connector for only:
ASCII & DIGITAL I/O
The above is good to know if you plan (like me) on moving any Classic option over to the Ultra.
The service manual is a must read if you plan on doing this (on your on risk of course).

The right page is 272
You can find old keyboards everywhere.

You can use an AT-to-PS2 converter which makes it much easier to find a nice keyboard. I use a Cherry mini keyboard in black with one of these.
