Hello,
I got a client with special needs and he needs to magnetically shield the psu´s of those. Euro 220 models.
Any help please? Same with his Ensoniq, his S3200 comes shielded from factory
thank you

What's the concern? Interference with the audio path or some other gear in the studio?

Nope, severe EHS electrosensibility with juditial sentence since a few years ago. He lives isolated in a protected natural camp with even no mobile signal due to his severe level.
He can´t pass 15-30 nanoteslas ( the unit that measures magnetical camp of psu) and those unshielded reaches way far the top of the measurer 1999. This is a serious issue, as well with his big collection of vintage $$ synths. Also he can´t be close to high frequency ( microwaves, or electric camps), his house has been adapted with shielded biocompatible cables, otherwise he could even not be close to a wall plug.
There are two paths that I know , shielding the psu whatever can be do ( per example wrapping with mu-metal alloy designed for it) but the heat might damage or make more unstable some gear. Mu-metal is like aluminnium kitchen soft fold for sandwiches, not like a 80´s rack metal side of thought.
I have been told about making a "trafo" on the existing psu and that supposedly could shield those. I got no idea about that, never heard about.
The other path is extracting the psu and put them 2-3 meters away, since magnetical radiation do leaves. This might be easy in samplers, but a mess on old synths, even if leaving the original inside to preserve it´s value and making a exterior clone.
Luckily samplers as his S3200 comes shielded from factory and the measure is 1-5 only, not the others.
thank you

Oh, that's serious. I think you will be better off asking this question on a forum like https://www.eevblog.com/forum/ or similar. You could replace the PSU with a modern one which usually is well shielded but AFAIK S950 uses a linear power supply and still needs AC voltage for some of the functions so I guess the best option would be to remove the PSU from the sampler and hide it in the external box for shielding.
