E64 Woes - SOS please ๐Ÿ™

Hello,

Just trying to confirm if my E64 is ready for the skip or not. Bought it off eBay last month, very poor condition but booted up and you could sample fine. I wanted to upgrade the OS and add a ZuluSCSI. Got some floppies off eBay 2.8 and 3.0b. Original OS on E64 was 2.8.

I switched it off popped in the new os and followed the prompts re the flash process. It started flashing and then it bombed out and couldn't read the floppy. Upon the restart it just hangs - It will now not boot, just flashing 0.6 no flash.

The original floppy drive looked dreadful inside. I managed to get access to a ESI-32 drive which powers on but the same results. I have a Gotek with the HXC firmware and tried that.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Shea.

Hello Shazboit

Did you ever solve the issue ?

I bought one of these :
https://studio-services.de/en/produkt/e โ€ฆ tdTbVI4V_6

and resurrected my old E64 so it lives again

You won't need a floppy after installing this as 4.62 is the highest EOS you can use on a classic, so you can use a Floppy Emulator

Best regards, Ole
