Are there any good books or even gems out there that are worth buying regarding Samplers?

Has anyone read this by any chance??
Akai S3000XL, pub date 2012(?)
http://www.abebooks.com/9786201646285/A … 646280/plp
I wonder if it really only contains 64 pages as this link suggests (http://www.amazon.fr/Akai-S3000xl-Jacob … 6201646280), this is very expensive then for "contains mainly articles already published on wikipedia"

Surpriseingly how little, about synthesis many, but on sampling I don't get many hit's, and being a rookie I should realy read up on it
Anyways the free articles on SOS is a true tressure, I often find what I look for, written in a good way,. here some SOS-suggestions:

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec98/a … mp.318.htm
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1996_ar … sics1.html
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar08/a … e_0308.htm
One could put together a hole "book" for sure ,.. by indexing web-links for good articles
But obviously a book is better f.eks. for reading under a travel ;-)

Discargo,
is Sample This! by Simon Cann worth owning?
I emailed SC a couple of times and he replied and was very helpful. His advice was to purchase the eBook versions rather than regular hard copies. Seems to be a professional, helpful and nice guy.

Interesting and inspiring sampler techniques are described in the Emulator X - Advanced Apps Guide document. There is a chapter Advance Applications, it's mostly focused on Emulator X software sampler but it's easily applicable to other samplers too, depending on the features available of course.
Standard EMU EOS manuals contain some generally useful info and tips as well, especially about modulations etc., search for 'cords' there.
