would like to get a copy of EOS 4.7 or 4.72 and the pre load disk that is needed to ready the E4 ultra for loading up the 4.7? EOS - if someone could make me a copy - that would be 'really swell' or point me in the direction where I can get both disks in the USA / Canada !! TY

I am doing the same upgrade with a 4.02 ultra samplers, When I put my disk in it sees the disk but continues to boot in 4.02 and doesn't give me the option do do the update. Is there another step I need to do to get this to work?

do you have the flash prep disk ? you need a disk called flash prep installed first before installing the EOS 4.62 , 4.7 , or 4.72 upgrade - I got my disks off of ebay from some bloke that sells copies of these disks in the UK for about $10 each.

if you have an ultra you'll want to upgrade to the 4.7 which optimizes the sequencer to work faster, and more accurate and more notes if you are really into using it as a multivoice sequencer - because the ultra series has a better RISC chip that makes everything work 3 times faster and more accurately - but if you dont care about using the sequencer that much or you only have the turbo samplers the highest you can go is 4.62 - to find the final 4.72 upgrade disc is a rarity .. there is also an EMU users group on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/EMUEIVMachines/?fref=nf

4.72 best feature is its ability to format disks using FAT, instead of Emu's custom filesystem. You'd need this if you're going to have a library that's more than a few (not sure how many) gigs in size -- with FAT you can have disks up to 120GB recognised by the system.

BUT WHO, IF ANYONE HAS A 4.72 DISK TO EVEN MAKE COPIES OF ?? NO ONE I KNOW - AND THE GUY FROM THE UK ON EBAY DOESNT HAVE ONE TO SELL EITHER - NOT THE LAST TIME I CHECKED ... IF YOU'VE GOT A 4.72 DISK MAKE ME A COPY DISK OF IT, AND SELL IT TO ME ..

I don;t know about 4.72 but I got the 4.7 disk from the person who sells them on ebay, and I upgraded fine, looks like it does fat 32 as well.
