stupid question about how to use filters

Postby aeser » Sun Dec 11, 2005 5:32 pm

i've only messed around a little bit with the filters in my e4xt ultra, which of course is dumb because the filters are one of the main reasons to use these things. problem is since i got kontakt i've been messing with that mainly because everything is so easy (compared to the emu where everything is so hard, yet sounds so good) so now i'm trying to bring up my level of proficiency with the e4xt, i can't remember/figure out how the hell to assign filters to my presets in multimode (where i spend most of my time), or assign the filter parameters to the knobs on my controller keyboards, so right now i'm up the creek without a paddle, can anyone hook me up?

also my understanding of filters is pretty limited as well, i understand lowpass filters low frequency bands, and high pass filters high frequency bands, and bandpass filters the whole spectrum (low to high), but this thing has many other kinds of filters which i want to figure out what they do and thus how to use them to warp sounds the way that i want.

i have a moog preset, which by default is set up so that when i move the pitch wheel on my controller keyboard it goes from a normal moog tone to this fast warbly sound, that as i move the pitch wheel from all the way up to it's original position (original tone) the warbling slows down till it's just the original tone. i fucking love this sound. i want to of course be able to apply these warping sounds to other samples as well.

please help a brother out. thank you.
