emusonacid! legacy

i have an emu 5000 and am happy with it but i am having a problem trying to get theloop type to work . what i mean is when i loada sample in then loop it that works fine when i hit the keys on my keyboard but when i want the sample to play through to the end i shold be able to hit the key and the sample loop will play but this is not the case, i have to hold the key down for the sample to play right the way through. i have gone in and mucked about with the loop type and only the loop type on works but i dont get any joy trying the loop in release, i have also gone into the amp envelope and adjusted the rls1 but the problem im getting is when i tri to strutter the sample loop it playes over itself can any one help me please .
