Help with EMU Ultra and M Audio 1010LT - setup

Postby Jarhead » Wed Feb 01, 2006 10:24 pm

Hi,

I have set up my Emu without a mixer and it seems to be working but I have a problem setting up the soundcard to play both the emu and my soft synths etc.

When i set up the sampler I need to have my main soundcard output set to play hardware in 3+4, which is where my sampler is linked to. When I want to play my soft synths i need the patchbay for the soundcard set to play WavOut 1+2 which is the main outs from my sequencer.

Can i do both at once? I want to be able to hear my basses from the emu with my drums etc from my sequencer at the same time?

Do i need a mixer?

I think I can help but could you explain your exact setup. Such as how you are patching the Emu and which Emu you have and the software,,,ect. I'm slightly confused from your post.

I have a delta 66 so were on the same system

whatever sequencer your using should be able to send out monitors of your inputs....you dont have to do it in the Delta's own little mixer thingy....you dont have to set whatever comes in 3+4 comes out to say 5+6....just monitor the signal throughyour DAW ...i use cubase/nuendo...and all u have to do is click on the little speaker button on the track...i think its default in cubase/nuendo that monitors are fed through outs 1 and 2 of your soundcard.....

hope this helps

hi m8 i have 1010 + emu

in the delta mixer {tool bar)

in patch bay router set it to moniter mixer
that setting lets u listen to all channel

and if u use cubase
devices/vst conections
set all your inputs and outputs here and name them for easy times
send the out of the emu to pc 3-4 input

mute input 5-6 7-8 spdif on mixer u dont want to record noise or hear it :)
