Best thing to do is to sign up for the Constructur Beta List, which we just put up.

For me the best way I've found to get .WAV files from CD onto the EMU is via SCSI. I got an Adaptec 2906 hooked up to my PC, I open the samples up into Soundforge, edit them to my liking then transfer them over to the EMU.

That's a good and immediate method, I use it too.

Constructor will improve on it in spades. It allows full mapping of many separate samples into a Preset, you can audition it and include different paramters and tunings etc.

With the samples you can write as a Bank onto a CD or hard drive, then you can load it into the Emu.

This looks promising

I must say, over the last few months the Chickensys guys seem to have really come ahead leaps and bounds from where they were a year or two back and the Mac version now working on OSX (waiting on Emu Support guys! :)) seems to be stabilizing and looks excellent even in beta - granted, translator PC did an ok job but constructor is exactly what I really what - the power of Zuonics Zeos which is still nice, but not finished and we will never see a Mac version unless the guy open sources. For that beast I have to keep my old XP box but with the ability to work offline and create soundsets constructor looks like the vision complete.

Now - will constructor allow external settings like RFX to be also contructed? then we complete the dream :)

It would be really use full to have Constructor, I need to map several drum kits and not to mention individual brass and stringed instruments.
