e-mu scsi to ide option usage

Postby ansu » Sat Aug 30, 2008 6:09 am

I have some questions for the e-mu scsi/ide usage with e6400 ultra sampler.

1).can we use an ide drive in e6400 ultra sampler using a scsi-ide adapter or something??
2).can we use a dvd rom drive in scsi with 6400 ultra or only scsi cdrom drives are compatible??

Please let us know if these 2 options can be used with 6400 ultra e-mu sampler.
If yes please let us know whether i can get these 2 accessories from which stores fat US/UK that ships worldwide.

1) This should work - I've used an IDE drive in an external IDE SCSI converter and it worked perfectly (I presume you know there is already an internal IDE interface inside the Emu).
2) I'm less sure about this, but I think it would work, as the file structure will be the same i.e. the Ultra will simple see the DVD as a giant CD-ROM. It will ve read only, though.

i got a IDSC21-E adapter but i can't get it to work with my el cheapo IDE to CF adapter. the thing came without a manual so i didn't touch any jumpers, i just plugged it in and switched on the ultra - no luck. suggestions?
