HOW DO I CONTROL E4X/6400 w NOVATION zeroSL??

Postby brage23 » Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:20 pm

Hi! I just bought an emu e4x and an e6400. Being an optimist, I went ahead an bought a novation zero sl and an evolution uc-16 in order to get some hands-on control of the parameters inside. BUT, I'm not a midi expert... The whole thing of converting cc to hexadecimal or binary code or whatnot, where to find the relevant info concerning the different parameters... All of a sudden the whole project started looking more like learning hebrew than hooking up some midi stash (at least according to my level of 'expertise').
SO, here comes the million-dollar question: Can anybody help me out? That is; how do I control my emus by external midi controllers?
(I also want to control a jv1080, kurzweil 2000r and waldorf pulse this way, if anyone out there have any tips concerning those configurations.)

thnxndvnc!

Beat regards, Brage.

Just won one of these on e-bay and looking to control things like filter cutoff/res etc rather than "deep editing" like loop points etc
The reasonto get one was a demo by a novation guy at sound control in bristol, he had a bit of software called template editor which you can download from novations website, all he was doing was twiddling a parameter on a Roland Fantom XR and the software would let you "capture" this and assign it to a knob/slider on the Zero SL ......
Should be here middle of the week, keep you posted if I get any joy.

hi, im wanting to do something similar

ive got logic 9 and have found a emu "environment" template you can use within logic to control the emu (then it would just be a matter of mapping the controller (ur novation) to the environment, probably as easy as apple L

well im hoping anyways, havent had it running yet, probably will this weekend.
