Will a scsi 9 gb @ 10 k rpm work in a E6400 classic ?
Wondering the speed being so fast if it adds any advantage or xtra power draw?

This 10k rpm drive will enrich your sound around 5.000 Hz!!! (The Nyquist frequency)

Usually old SCSI-drives (and 9GB sounds like the capacity of an old hard drive) make a lot of noise.
You should put the drive outside the sampler to have the option to switch it off, if it's too noisy.
There are no advantages or extra power to gain by using such a drive.

By power draw I meant too much draw on the power supply of the E-mu.
Noise could be a factor.
So guess I''ll stay away from these bad boys if there is no sample loading speed gain to be had.

The power supply is built to handle the electrical power supply requirements of hard drives within certain specifications.
SCSI HDs will for sure be within this specifications. So, don't worry.
But the noise ....
