E4X Turbo "David Rossum" edition

Postby E4X_Turbo » Thu Apr 07, 2011 12:30 pm

Does anyone have ant info on the E4X Turbo "David Rossum" edition of the E4X? It has "David Rossum" signature screen printed on the face and has a light grey faceplate color. I've searched the web and these forums but can not find any mention of this special edition.

Thanks

New to me.
Wow! This must be a rare unit.
What cards, memory, drives and roms are found on the boot procedure?

SOME INFO FROM WIKKI
E-mu Systems was founded in 1971 and began business as a manufacturer of microchips, digital scanning keyboards, and components for electronic instruments. Licensing this technology gave E-mu ample funds to invest in research and development, and they began to develop boutique synthesizers for niche markets, including a series of modular synthesizers and the high-end Audity system. In 1979, founders Scott Wedge and Dave Rossum saw the Fairlight CMI and the Linn LM-1 at a convention, inspiring them to design and produce a less expensive keyboard that made use of digital sampling.

I am awaiting delivery of the unit. Once I do, I will report back on the specifications.

In the meantime here are some pics of it...

The only differences to the original E4X Turbo, are the frontpanel und the included CDRom library (the first 16 CDRoms of the E-mu Library).

Right, I remember them, regarding hardware were only design editions, think they were announced as "silver edition" in magazines, there was an ESI 32 in silver too with Dave Rossum signature. Did came out to celebrate something, probably E-mu's birthday (25 th?). There was another design out there, the Hollywood Gold.
