SUN External SCSI HardDisk

Postby massimo » Thu Nov 03, 2011 10:53 am

Does anyone have any experience with these? I am looking at one for my E4 Platinum.

http://www.kernelpoweruk.com/products.a ... ternal.htm

They do not carry 50-pin Centronics stock, but say they can provide an adaptor cable. Any problems? Also is there any size limitation (they also have a 73Gb model). Sorry if all this is trivial, I am new to the E4.

best regards
Massimo

Hello Massimo!

The only thing I know is that the limitation of harddrives for EOS 4.7 is about 137GB.

I think you will find that the scsi drive needs to be either type 1 or 2
These will usually be 50 or 68 pin drives
Just make sure the drive is not the later, faster type 3 drives (ultra scsi I believe)
I tried the later larger capacity drives and had no joy
So watch out for that ;)
