disk partitions in EOS 4.70

Postby moshimoshi » Sun Jul 15, 2012 11:09 pm

Hi,

I did quite a bit of searching on this but I couldn't find an answer.

I just got an E6400 Ultra which I've upgraded to EOS 4.70 and connected a SCSI CF drive.

Is it possible to use disk partitions on EOS 4.70 with FAT32? I'd prefer to keep partitions to manageable sizes of 4GB or 8GB if I get a 16GB or bigger CF card.

If I create the partitions on a Windows XP machine, will the Emu recognise them as separate partitions/volumes/disks?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I would not think that it will see the partitions on your CF drive. The emu EOS will not do this with the internal HD or an external scsi HD, however it will see akai cd ROMs with partitions, eg A,B,C but these partitions contain no folders they just list the banks. So the partition becomes the folder title. The EOS will not see folders inside folders (sub-folders)

JAHFUNK - thanks for the answer man! I guess I'll just use 4GB or 8GB cards, all good. Loving getting back into Emu after all these years.
