OK ... thinking about buying a used RFX card.

I have 8 analogue outs now (4 stereo pairs). If I were to purchase the RFX card, would it work with this number of outputs or would I have to get the 8 output expansion kit from somewhere?

Also, what were the RFXs going for when they were new (just the RFX card).

The outputs you already have should be fine if they are the defaults (MAIN, SUB1, SUB2, SUB3). As far as I know only the RFX 8 out expansion works with RFX, the other output expansion card does not. You can get the extra 8 RFX output card for additional outs if you want more outputs. I think E-mu still sells these but I can stand to be corrected. I got my RFX for $350 USD about a year ago.

I would like to get an RFX but I'm afraid I missed the boat. There's one on Ebay right now for $420 but I bet it tops $500 when its sold. Oh well, there's always the TCEFireworx and resampling. I'll def check EMU for 8 output expansions though ... methinks I'm getting a new mixer!
