SCSI Zip issue on 6400 Ultra.

Postby r4ns0m » Tue Nov 01, 2011 2:02 am

This is really just a minor annoyance, but for some reason my Zip drive is showing up multiple times on the Disk Browser screen. The internal HDD is on ID#8, the CD-ROM is on ID#5, and then the Zip drive shows up on all other available IDs. I can access it from all of those icons, so it isn't preventing me from using anything. Do I have something hooked up incorrectly, or not terminated properly?

Hello!

Please check the scsi ID of the zip drive, and if the "termination" is ON.
Normal scsi zip drives have the possibility to change her ID between 5 and 6 and they have a Termination Switch.

Another problem could be the scsi ID of the Ultra himself. Check this under MASTER, SETUP and SCSI.

But as you described the problem, I think it is the "termination" of the zip drive.

Set it ON and the zip drive must be tha last one in the scsi chain.

Thanks Christian! Double checked everything, had two devices on the same SCSI ID #, set everything to unique IDs and it is working properly now.
