E4K Hard Drive Problems

Postby SELFMADESOUL » Thu Mar 25, 2004 4:19 am

Hello, everybody!

I have an E4K, and was wondering if anyone had advice for a little problem I have with it. When I go to load samples from the hard drive, it gets to a certain percentage in the loading process, and then hangs up. After the error message (SCSI device problem) comes up, I go to look for the hard drive again, and it's either not there in the list of drives, or it will show up, and indicate that there are no folders, or anything on it. Eventually, it came up and worked, and I was able to have rehearsal. This would be most embarrassing if it were to happen durring a performance. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? Thanks!

Try splitting your loading amount in half, or in fourths. It sounds like the system is locking up because it's loading too many files at once. Also, maybe you're filling up your RAM to capacity. That might stall the system too.

Ive had this a couple of times now !!

the emu hangs - then when you reboot, you cant load any banks from the internal scsi hdd !?!?
It just gets to a certain percent then stops - I get no error messages.
After trying 15-20 more times it unjams itself!!

whats goin on??
