Hi all,
I just connected an old apple/ quantum harddisk via scsi to my sampler.
the apple finder and scsi probe detects the disk but my emu can't mount it, in order to format the new drive.
here's my gear:
Apple g4
Adaptec 2930 scsi card, bussed into
Apple/ Quantum scsi HD, busssed into
E4xt Ultra, terminated
I should mention, that the HD is from an old apple computer. I installed it into the scsi case of the former ext. HD, which worked fine, but had not enough space. Now, when I installed the new drive, I noticed that a pair of cables connecting the old drive to the SCSI ID box at the rear of the HD case, could not be connected to the new drive.
The new drive's scsi ID is set to 0 (no idea how I can change it)
Emu is set to 6, and my computer is set to 7.
Now, I tried connecting the HD directly to the sampler (terminating one scsi slot at the drives case) and it still wouldn't mount.
In the EOS manual, it says, if the drive's not showing, it is unformatted - but how can I format it under EOS, if it doesnt show???
I also tried various formats in the Apple Finder - still no result.
Can any one help?
Thank you,
Ingmar
