my e64 died

Postby agent9 » Thu Sep 09, 2004 6:20 pm

i reciently got an e64 (it kind of fell in my lap, and while i really want a e6400 ultra, i figured i will make due while selling off other gear to get an e6400).

well, i finally got all my midi cables strait, got it all setup, got a new os on it, got it ready to play with, and then i turned it off and on and....nothing....no power....non. i have lots of gear on this same setup and plenty of surge protectors and such, but somehow my e64 got fried. i assume its the power supply that got fried...is this a common problem? any way to fix it short of replacing the powersupply?

anyone have a junk e64 with a good power supply they wouldnt mind getting rid of?

thanks for any help,

the differences in loading time / processing speed are substantial enough to just trash that thing and get an ultra.
i would interpret that as an omen telling you not to fuck with those older machines.
