besides the obvious..

if i dont want to sample stuff using the emux2 would i be ok with a proteusx2?/

i mean its a player right so it plays wav, aif, etc??
its got the zplane filters.

i need to know what the diff is so cos im gonna be buying either one or both if necasary! :slayer:

Hmm... I don't have either, but from a quick read of the manuals, the main and most significant difference is that you can't import samples into PX2. You can change the sample in a preset and use another sample in the same bank or in another bank, but you can't add any samples to banks or create your own banks with added samples (you can make your own banks, but only out of presets and samples already in other banks, and it looks like the sample needs to be associated with a preset in order to save it in the bank). So if you have a bunch of .WAV files you wanted to turn into presets, you can't do it with just PX2.

<<Note: as I mentioned, I don't have either program to actually check it out... it could be that E-mu just left that part completely out of the manual>>

yo thanks a lot man, think you're right. looks like im gonna have to invest in emulatorx if i want to use the filters on my own sample library.
